Sri Shankara Cancer Foundation is a not-for-profit organization established in 2008 with the goal of fighting cancer on all fronts. SSCF has established Shankara Cancer Hospitals, two state-of-the-art, comprehensive, modern, cancer hospitals, with a combined bed count of 1270 beds. Sri Shankara Cancer Hospital & Research Centre, Bengaluru was established in 2012 and Bagchi Sri Shankara Cancer Centre & Research Institute, Bhubaneswar was established in 2024. SSCF has also established 4 other institutions to spearhead cancer prevention, cancer research and training of the healthcare cadre in cancer care.
Every year, we gather with our donors and well-wishers to show them how their support gave our patients a chance to live beyond cancer. Every Donors Day, we dedicate the day’s events to them as a way to say thank you for being part of our journey of building a world without cancer.

With the unwavering support of over 3,000 generous donors, we have been able to make a substantial impact on cancer care, prevention and research across India.
Comprehensive Cancer Care
Shankara Cancer Hospitals (located in Bangalore and Bhubaneswar), with 1,270 beds, is India’s largest cancer specialty hospital group. Over 85,000 patients have received high-quality, NABH and NABL accredited cancer care across our campuses. We provide comprehensive and cutting-edge treatments like bone marrow transplantation, immunotherapy, and robotic surgery at 30-40% lower costs, with more than 36,000 patients receiving free or subsidized care worth ₹118 crores.
Community Support & Services
We provide holistic support including free meals, accommodation, support groups, palliative care, education, and financial assistance to patients and caregivers.
Outreach & Prevention
Through the Sarva Rakshana program, we have covered a total of 6.5 lakh population with more than 2.5 lakh adults receiving free cancer risk assessments. Following risk assessment, 74,083 screenings for oral, breast, and cervical cancers have been performed and 146 individuals diagnosed with cancer during the screening have received free treatment at Shankara Cancer Hospitals.
Research & Training
As a DSIR-recognized research institution, we’ve published over 150 papers and are working on 60+ projects. Our training programs, recognized by NBE and RGUHS, have produced skilled oncology professionals serving across the globe.
